A weeks worth of Excitement.

We cruised back to Northwich to fill with water and do a bit more Waitrose shopping. I phoned Anderton Boat lift and asked when was there next available place on the lift. They told me 1.30 which was just perfect for us. So we cruised back to the lift for are allocated time. We have really enjoyed being on the River Weaver It is so peaceful

Reflections On The River

We moored in Anderton for the evening and set about giving Tacet a well needed wash.

Fly Boat Saturn
Saturday 27th we left Anderton and made are way to just past bridge 212 on the Bridgewater Canal, There was  a massive breach in the canal which resulted in the Canal being closed for several weeks. We liked it there so much we stayed for 2 days. On the first night a few old working boats passed us as they had been to Lymm Transport weekend, it was like having our own private procession passing by.

Monday 29th we made our way to Stockton Heath for some supplies. We were both very pleasantly surprised at how nice the town is with lots of shops and an Aldi and Sainsbury’s. We moved on in the late afternoon and made our way to just south of Pickering’s Bridge really nice quiet moorings.

Tuesday 30th we had a very short cruise in to Lymm and bagged the last mooring on the town side. We got talking to Kevin and Shirley from Jenny Wren I think Eddy has placed a photo of them on the blog all ready. It was such a lovely day we had a BBQ for tea very nice to.

We were sitting outside when a young mum walked by she said she had been bitten by an insect and it really hurt her, she had a very red swelling on her arm Shirley said it was most likely a horsefly so I said she needed to see a vet and have an injection the young mum believed me until Shirley said she didn't and all she  needed was some antihistamine cream which Shirley gave her. The young mum said she believed me !!!.

Wednesday we said goodbye to Kevin and Shirley as they were heading towards Middlewich. We stayed put for the day as it was such a hot day it got to 34 degrees inside Tacet. we had the big fan blowing to keep us and Eddy cool. Another BBQ for the evening meal and relaxing in the warm evening air when suddenly the skies darkened and we heard the rumble of thunder and within 20 minutes we had a spectacular thunder and lightning storm which light the sky up I must be getting slower in my old age !!!  although I tried to catch the lighting on the camera I missed every time the shutter was fired.
Storm Clouds
Thursday 2nd we left Lymm around 11.00 and had a lovely cruise towards Dunham Woodhouse Underbridge as I wanted to take a walk to Dunham Massey a National Trust property. I only wanted to have a walk in the Fellow Deer park and take some photos of the deer.
