Salterforth Stalactites

We left are moorings and made are way to Barrowford locks and was through the 7 locks quite quickly. We cruised on towards Foulridge Tunnel which is traffic light operated, so we waited until the little light turned green and then we were off through the tunnel which is nice and straight.

We made our way to Salterforth as we wanted to visit the Anchor Inn for the reason below, we also had a fantastic meal there. The new landlord had difficulties with the card reader and was only taking cash, we did not have enough for a meal but a very kind gent called Andy gave us a lift to a cash machine. The cellar was a wonderful sight the Stalactites hung from ceiling to floor.

Thursday we headed off the scenery is fantastic on this part of the canal. it's a wonderful canal to cruise as it's a contour canal which means it winds its way around hills so lots of tight turns which I love. The views are really magnificent. We have done 3 locks today and moored at bridge 164 with this as a view from our lounge.
