Skipton & A Surprise Meeting

We spent a lovely afternoon walking around Skipton on Sunday to see what was about.
Lots of shops open so spent some time looking at stuff we don't have space for.
On Monday we made our way up to the Skipton Castle as it looked a nice place to visit. We were not disappointed either a really interesting little castle with some good views of the surrounding area.
As I was standing in the Kitchen of the castle I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned round to be greeted by Rob a chap I work with occasional in Ipswich. It was a great surprise to see him, he is on a family holiday with his wife Kirsty his in-laws and nieces. It's a small world at times.

We had a meal out that evening but didn't enjoy it too much, so we made our way to the Wooly Sheep pub which is an olde worlde pub with a good selection of beers.

Tuesday morning we left Skipton and made our way to Keighley as we are visiting Riddlesden Hall on Wednesday. Once again the views were fantastic and so was the twisty turning canal the only problem with the Leeds & Liverpool canal is that some places are very difficult to moor at due to all the silt.

  1. Hiya Tacet!! Sorry I didn't get to see you before you left Skipton - I fell asleep after Mike left for the station and woke up at 10! You'll be well ahead of us now but maybe see you back down south at some point. Can you let us know what the moorings are in Leeds if you stop there? Phoned CRT but they didn't know!! My mobile is 07535559571 if it's easier to text or ring. Safe travels meantime, Aileen. NB Quaintrelle x
